Copy me & kill your company
You wanna scale your company.
You run into an issue you haven't solved before.
Let's say… you have too many projects going on.
So what do you do? Here is the obvious solution:
Copy the experts.
And who would know better solutions to problems you run into when scaling your company than corporations?
After all, they managed to get to a few billion in revenue—the stuff they do can't be that bad.
So this is the move, right?
Riiiight?
Well, what they do definitely works.
But the fact that it works for them, doesn’t mean it works for you.
And to be honest, in most cases—it doesn't.
Let's get back to our example: You have too many projects going on, you can't handle them yourself anymore.
If you were to copy any big corporation, you'll hire a project manager.
But does that make sense?
Do you have so many projects that a dedicated employee would make sense?
If you do: Congrats on being over $12M in annual revenue!
And if not: Congrats, you just hired a dead employee.
(Dead meaning that it's totally unnecessary & a shame for your P&L to have a dedicated role for this)
Which is why you always have to steal from people a couple or even just one step ahead of you, not the big corporations.
In the next email, I'm gonna tell you the universally best advice any entrepreneur could get—which coincidentally also solves our example problem.
Looking forward to seeing (I realize this doesn't really make sense but we'll still run with it, ok?) you in the next one.
If you have a better way for me to send these emails that actually makes sense, please let me know.
I can't keep saying seeing you in the next one even though I'm not actually seeing anyone.
Anyways
Cheers,
Tyler
