How to make millions without becoming miserable

I think you all heard the stories.

The most well-known one being that of Vinay Hiremath, the co-founder of Loom.

After selling Loom to Atlassian for $975 million, he said this:

“I am rich and have no idea what to do with my life.”

And that’s more common than you might think, and not only with people who sold their company.

I once worked with a guy who was doing extremely well, in his late 20s running a company doing high 8-figures with super healthy margins.

A few weeks after I completed the project, we had a call where he said something along the lines of: "So now I'm going to make even more money, but honestly I have no idea what to even do with it."

Because the only thing he does all day is work.

The only other thing he does is go to the gym, which is in his apartment building.

He doesn't leave his house except for flying to meetings or events.

This type of lifestyle works when you're young and have to build something.

But it cost him tens of million and a part of his life.

For the last 5 years he's been scaling his company using the same systems, selling the same stuff.

Of course that works, but it also means:

  • He has to keep working 14 hours a day, otherwise growth will slow down.

  • He didn't leverage any new tech, meaning he has to work harder to keep up with the competition.

  • He lives purely for the money. Since his day-to-day is so similar, he can't even remember what he did a couple of days ago.

And he of course neither has real friends nor a girlfriend (he originally wanted to have kids in his early 20s) since he doesn't do anything besides work.

I don't know about you, but for me, it's not worth it to throw years of my life away for money, even if it's tens of millions.

The good news is, you don't have to.

If you:

  • Focus on optimizing your operations and systems

  • Leverage automation and AI as much as you can

  • Overspend massively on key hires to get the best of the best

This won't happen to you, because you'll have time to do things besides work.

And then it's up to you to take that opportunity.

Cheers,

Tyler

P.S. Last week I recorded a video that covers what you should focus on operations wise based on your current revenue. It’s exclusive to our paid members, but you can test the membership here for 3 days at $1.

P.P.S You’re the first to get access to the membership with the new pricing. The base plan (linked above) is now $37 per month, and we added a second plan that includes 1 on 1 support for $197 per month.
