Managing Your Team Properly

Honestly, a big issue I've seen nowadays is the fact that most companies cannot manage a team and each department effectively

A lot of companies I see these days don't know how to properly manage and train their sales department

They don't know how to provide them with the resources they need to improve their close rate

They don't know how to foster a better culture, and that's a big issue

The truth is, no amount of automations, AI implementations, or systems will ever fix how a team performs

These are just enhancers, think of them like supplements

If your diet is bad, the supplements won't help, but if your diet is solid, they enhance how you feel

The same goes for your sales department — managing and training them is crucial for performance

If the resources you give them are poor and they are bad at closing, and you're not managing or overseeing them well, it won’t matter how many automations or systems you build or how much AI you implement

No matter what tools you provide, they will still underperform

They might close at 10% or 25%, but they should be closing at 30%, 40%, or even 50%

It’s a big issue I’ve noticed lately: most people don’t know how to train departments

You have to train departments on the root problem

Most people think managing a sales department means improving scripts when closes are slow

But really, you need to spend hours reviewing sales call recordings to figure out the core issue

Then, once you identify the problem, you can monitor and adjust from there

Most people don’t find the root issue — they think more training on objection handling is the answer

What they should be doing is understanding what metrics are low and why they’re low

For example, if closes are slow, you need to review sales calls to analyze objections, presentations, and discovery calls to find out what’s causing the low numbers

From there, you can improve the metrics

This is the best way to manage and train sales departments from what I've seen helping my clients with teams of 5 to 10 people
