The $2M mistake I caught in 30 seconds (thanks to one dashboard)
Why flying blind is killing your business (and how to fix it)
Quick story time...
Last week, I was reviewing a client's business metrics when something caught my eye.
record scratch
Their sales team was crushing it. Revenue was up. Clients were happy.
But one number was off.
Way off.
Their client acquisition cost had silently crept up by 300% in just two months.
Translation? They were bleeding money without even realizing it.
Here's the wild part...
If they didn't have a dashboard showing this number in real-time, they would've kept celebrating their "success" while actually losing $2M this year.
But here's why this matters for you...
Most businesses are flying completely blind. They're like:
"Revenue's up, we must be killing it!"
"Clients seem happy, we're probably good!"
"The team looks busy, things must be working!"
narrator voice: things were not, in fact, working
Think about it...
Would you:
Drive a car with a blacked-out dashboard?
Fly a plane without instruments?
Play a game without keeping score?
Then why TF are you running a business without knowing your numbers?
Here's what you should be tracking (minimum):
Client acquisition cost
Lifetime value
Churn rate
Team productivity
Process efficiency
Growth bottlenecks
But the real power isn't in tracking these metrics...
It's in seeing how they all connect.
Because when one number moves, it affects everything else.
Like that client who thought they were crushing it? Their increased ad spend was killing their profit margins.
One dashboard would've shown them that instantly.
Instead, they spent months celebrating a problem.
I'm dropping our exact dashboard template in the Discord. The same one we use to track 7-figure businesses. For free.
